Economy Minister: Weekly deflation in Russia continues

MOSCOW, Jul 7 (PRIME) -- Inflation of 0.23% between June 25 and July 1 should not be overestimated, because exclusion of the public utility services tariff growth will show that deflation continues, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov told a government meeting on Thursday.

“The emergence of inflation last week should not be overestimated, it is mainly connected to the growth of tariffs for public utility services. If we exclude the regulated services, we will see that we still have deflation, and that it continues at a rather noticeable level,” Reshetnikov said.

The Federal State Statistics Service said inflation sped up to 0.23% between June 25 and July 1 after a zero in the previous week and several weeks of deflation before that.
